On October 15, 2012, Regence Footwear of Quebec City, Canada (Chaussures Régence Inc.) purchased all of the existing shares of Wilkuro Safety Toes and brought its operations into their company. The Wilkuro brand will now be managed by their team and built at their Quebec City plant.
This is exciting news!
Regence Footwear is a family owned business and was named one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies several times over the past few years. Since its beginnings, the welfare of its consumers has always been at the heart of its mission.
Like Wilkuro’s Concord plant, the Quebec City facility is an ISO 9001:1994 certified so quality will be consistent . After speaking with the founders of Wilkuro, we learned just how particular Regence is about quality. It is very impressive. A Wilkuro founder, took a look at the first product delivered to our office and was equally impressed.
The products still bear CSA Certification for grade 1 toe protection, in fact, we’ve inspected our first shipments made at the new facility and the build quality is as good, if not better than it was out of the Concord plant. We are thrilled!
The last month has been tough for us and our customers — back orders and such as a result of this very quick move. We thoroughly apologize. If you have been negatively affected, give me a call and we’ll give you a promo code for your next order.
We now have stock for most styles and sizes in the US warehouse again and we will be shipping all orders quickly. Canadian orders will continue to ship frequently as well — in the meantime, in many instances directly out of Quebec, until we locate our own Toronto area warehouse facility — we’d previously used the Wilkuro warehouse in Concord for our Canadian stock.
To a happy new business relationship with Regence Footwear! Cheers,
President, Bottomline Safety Inc.
